Frames
Does Bay Area Mobile Opticians sell Gold + Wood eyeglass frames? I went to the Gold + Wood website and didn't see BA-MO.us listed, but I thought I saw some Gold + Wood frames on your site.
We offer a limited curated collection of bamboo frames, but they are not branded by Gold + Wood.
An item I like is out of stock. When will you receive more inventory?
We carry a limited curated collection of frames chosen by a panel of experienced Opticians, prioritizing quality, comfort, and style without corporate branding and logos. So, if you see a frame you like, don't hesitate to set an appointment because they do run out of stock fast.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
We do not offer gift wrapping at this time.
How do I know which frames will fit my prescription and/or fit my face?
Our Licensed Opticians are here to help and provide personalized recommendations. Chat with us, and book an appointment for our one-on-one style consultations.
You carry various styles of quality frames at wonderful prices in today's economy. Do you get your frames locally?
We welcome designers, opticians, and frame manufacturers who meet our criteria in the quality of ophthalmic eyewear. Currently, we collaborate with International Design Houses (IDHs) from Brazil, China, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, and here in the United States. We work directly with frame manufacturers, and because we don’t go through middlemen (resellers, buying groups, or vision insurance corporations), we pass the savings on to our clients. You always pay more for corporate marketing, but why? Style doesn’t have to be expensive.
How do you ensure eco-friendly practices in your eyewear services?
We prioritize sustainability by offering eco-friendly frames that combine style and responsibility. Our choices include environmentally conscious materials, demonstrating our commitment to a greener planet without sacrificing quality or aesthetics. This ensures you can make ethical choices with your eyewear while enjoying our convenient, personalized services.
Lenses
How do I know which lenses are best for my prescription?
When it comes to lenses, even one millimeter can mean the difference between comfort and eyestrain, clarity and fuzziness. Our licensed Opticians will help you navigate selecting the right lenses for your needs.
Insurance
Do you take vision insurance?
As Licensed Opticians, we are not on any insurance panel of providers. Only Optometrists and Ophthalmologists may accept direct payment from insurance providers. However, an itemized bill may be submitted to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement (this will vary in amount based upon your specific coverage).
My company has flex spending accounts. Can I use this with you?
Yes, we accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), and Medical Reimbursement Account (MRA). An FSA/HSA/MRA is an account you sign up for through your employer. Money gets put aside, pre-tax, and you can use it on medical needs that may not be covered through your insurance plan. And, YES! Eyewear falls under that! Some accounts, like an FSA, DO NOT roll over, so you have to USE YOUR FLEX DOLLARS within a period of time, or you lose the money you put away! HSA & MRA rollover, but always check with your HR to ensure all account rules are met and to check your contributions. These funds are great to have in the event you run into any unexpected eyewear tragedies, want to build a beautiful eyewear collection, have used your vision insurance benefits, or when your vision insurance benefits don’t cover much.
